FROZEN SHOULDER

It is a common name for adhesions that limit the range of motion around the shoulder joint. The tissues around the joint stiffen,scar tissue forms and shoulder movements become difficult and painful.The condition usually comes on slowly and goes away slowly. Causes : It develops when we stop using the joint normally because of pain,injury,diabetes or stoke. Any shoulder problem can lead to frozen shoulder if we do not work to keep full range of motion. It occurs: • After surgery or injury • Mostly above 40 to 70 years old • Mostly in Post menopausal women • In people with chronic diseases Diagnosis: • Physical examination by the doctor reveals limited shoulder movement • X-rays Treatment: • Medications • Physical therapy • Surgery
